The Sojourn, located in Sherman Oaks, has been a beloved destination for over 70 years, earning its place as an icon during California’s Golden Age of Travel. Treasured by both locals and visitors, the motel’s legacy called for a rebrand that honored its rich history while embracing a fresh, contemporary vision. Laursen Design carefully balanced retro-modern charm with an updated aesthetic. Key elements of the redesign included preserving the iconic monument sign and creating a large outdoor mural that vividly captures LA popular culture—palm trees, freeways, and an effortless, West Coast vibe.
